When spring sets in, the JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” invites to apply for the events of Open Forest Days to see the treasures of Latvian forests with their own eyes, and also to participate in the forest cleaning events.

The events of LVM Open Forest Days can be attended by anyone just by contacting the following persons in advance.

The events of Open Forest Days are free of charge. Participants have to provide their own transport to the place of event and some snacks for boosting energy; it is also preferable to have suitable clothes for forest visit and work gloves. We encourage applying early, because events have set limit for number of participants.

Forest Days is an event cycle full of traditions that is organised with an aim to promote society’s understanding about sustainable forest management. Altogether, in the spring 2017 the LVM plans to organise 309 Forest Days’ events, also the special forest expeditions with general education school students of Latvia – educational hikes in nature with stops in forest in a guidance experienced foresters.
