Museum Night in Jaunmokas Palace will look into pages of Nature's Time

On the 20 May more than 150 museums, galleries, palaces, manors and workshops will open their doors late in the evening allowing to look at their collections, expositions and special events of this evening in the light of dusk or in the darkness of night. This year the museum of Jaunmokas Palace invites to look into the pages of Nature's Time – through the art of photography and video, music and dance, stories and participation, from history to nowadays.

The Museum Night in Jaunmokas Palace will begin at 7 PM with the opening of photography exhibition of Sigita Lapiņa – “The visible in the invisible. 4 elements”, the musical background will be taken care of by the gong masters Krista Džulija Kirkupa and Jānis Pūķis. After “bathing” in the sounds of gongs and photography art, at 8 PM visitors will be welcomed to the Column Hall to a performance “Market” of modern dance by the Latvian College of Culture, but at 10 PM a première of the film “Pērles rožu vainagā” (Pearls in the wreath of roses) about the less known nature and cultural-historical attractions of Tukums region. The guides of museum at 8:30, 10 and 11 PM will allow looking into various events through history of Jaunmokas, but from 8 PM anyone will have a chance to find an artist within themselves and to create something special from natural materials. With the dusk – at 9 PM – the dancers of Tukums Ernests Birznieks-Upītis Elementary School will set the mood.  However, during the whole evening anyone can see the regular interior exposition of Palace, as well as, the newly renovated exposition of Forestry Museum, enjoy the magic of spring evening in the palace’s park, to look at the horizon from the tower of palace and enjoy the video stories from “Eaglewood Films” about the diversity of Latvian nature.

Visitors of Museum Night can enjoy a meal in café “Liepaleja”.

The activities in the museum and in the territory will close at midnight.
