While waiting for the Summer Solstice and with the magical shortest night of the year coming closer, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete on the 17 June will hold a pre-celebration – the Herb Day in Forest. The park will be filled with scent of freshly cut grass from meadows and picked meadow flowers, the forest will be buzzing and the miracles of the magical night will be palpable in the air.

On this day in the Fairytale and Dwarfs’ Forest from 11 AM until 5 PM – everything unusual and mysterious about forest plants. In the Dwarfs’ Cottage we will prepare for the magic of the longest day and shortest night – dwarfs will share their herb knowledge, will tell about the mysterious forest plants – fern, sedge, various shrubs with edible berries and other forest plants, and will show some techniques to create natural decorations. In the Dwarfs’ Cottage a special guest will visit us – the Berry Dwarf!

In the Fairytale Forest with the Forest Witch you will learn the secrets of the magical herb night – those special and surprising ones. However, at the wooden sculpture – Kitchen Maid, you will be able to weave your own flower crown by weaving the good wishes of health, luck and happiness.

And the big event of the day – a play of Rūdolfs Blaumanis “Trīnes grēki” performed by the amateur theatre “Trīne” of Culture House of Tērvete district, director – Dzintra Zimaiša. The play will start at 3 PM.

From 16 June until 18 June – the Festival of Blue Morpho Butterflies in Tērvete Butterfly House! The Tērvete Butterfly House will be filled with swirls of bright blue wings of hundred of the colourful butterflies. The wingspan of these blue miracles can reach up to 15 cm. Interesting fact is that Blue Morphos flies in swarms, oh what a beautiful sight it is! For more information call +371 26622444.

The adventurous and sporty ones are offered an adventure trail 4 to 10 metres above ground between the great pines of Tērvete in the Skyways of Luck Land. The aerial adventure is guaranteed by the Swiss designed security system SAFEROLLER (www.kanopeo.com), which provides a secure adventure with rolling continuous belay system in all parts of the trail.
