Whilst enjoying winter, but at the same time starting to dream about spring and return of birds, the Forest Museum of Jaunmokas Palace in February, March and April until the Bird Day will exhibit a photo exhibition of Jānis Bērziņš, who has captured the finest nuances of birds, butterflies and Latvian landscapes.
The photographer tells about himself:
“I was born in Riga. Now my life is connected with the Sēme rural municipality. I have always had a special bond with nature. More than ten years ago I had a thought to capture the moments observed in nature.
I have spent several years in a foreign country – Norway. The vivid nature of Norway inspired to turn to photography even more. In the free time, for hours I was observing birds that had settled close by. Thus, the main object of my photographies became birds – their surprising diversity and instant of a movement, which is unrepeatable. I have won several contests “My Bird” that were organised by the Latvian Museum of Natural History, and also received the “Award of the Year” in year 2015 in the category “Nature's Beauty”. I have had also several solo shows in Norway and here in Latvia.
My life motto: “Capture the moment and give it to others!””
