Starting from Saturday, 14 April, until the Night of Museums on the 19 May, in the Column Hall of Jaunmokas Palace, the Latvian hunting trophies exhibition “Jaunmokas 2018” will be available. This will be already the 5th exhibition of Latvian trophies – previously it took place every 5 years, but this time the interval is a bit shorter – 3 years. The previous exhibition in 2015 in one month was visited by several thousand visitors.
This year hunters submitted trophies that have been acquired in Latvian wilderness from year 2015 until year 2018. All together, more than 800 different trophies, amongst which are antlers of deer, moose and roe deer, and also tusks, skins and skulls, have been submitted for evaluation and exhibition.
The atmosphere of hunting trophies’ exhibition is complemented also with one tapestry of textile artist Baiba Rītere – the rest of works are exhibited in the Tower Hall of the palace. There - deer, moose, black grouses, roe deer and fantastic forest landscapes are portrayed on linen with almost unbelievable colour nuances.
The working hours of the trophies exhibition – every day from 10 AM until 6 PM. Entrance tickets for adults and students – 1.50 EUR, for schoolchildren and seniors – 0.70 EUR, family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) – 4 EUR. The combined ticket for Hunting trophies exhibition and for Jaumnokas Palace museum (every day 9 AM-7 PM) – for a very good price!
Continuing the theme about hunting and trophies, on 14 April from 10 AM until 4 PM the Forest Museum of Jaunmokas Palace will hold the Family Day. In a guidance of museum’s specialist we will get to know more about various animals – their furs, footprints, habits and other things related to wildlife animal life. Participation in the Family Day with the combined ticket for Hunting trophies exhibition and for Jaumnokas Palace museum without any extra fees, or, if you are not visiting the Hunting trophies exhibition then only parents pay at the entrance of the museum – children participate in the Family Day for free!
See you in the adventures of Jaunmokas!
