On Monday, logging workers at LVM North Latgale region's Viļaka forest district were surprised by an unexpected guest – Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) kitten.
Little animal though that forest forwarder tractor seems friendly and willingly went to humans to climb into the warmest lap.
When asked, why animal, which usually is running away from humans, now is acting so unusual, the head of LVM North Latgale region's forestry department, Viktors Reblis, tells: “Occasionally, when lynx mom has a litter or 3 to 4 kittens and in the situation of stress must run away, sometimes the weakest kitten falls behind and loses his way. Also it is possible that lynx mom has passed away.”
Usually such loners do not survive, but this kitten was taken to the Rīga Zoo where experts will take care of him.
