The active tourist season in arboretum has closed, but the outside still is filled with schoolchildren chatter. They engage, repeat, search, run, wonder and observe. Just like everyone who visits arboretum, they learn something new about the collections of woody plants, play environmental education games, get into character of a collector.

            This time the team of LVM Kalsnava Arboretum is going to city to implement the Green School of Yard in a completely different environment, where woody plants are just as important.

            On October 25 already from 10 AM meet the team of arboretum in the LVM Embassy at Vaiņodes street 1.

            All through the day conversations about woody plants, their growing, tending and reproduction. Photo collection with an insight into the collection, thematic events and creative activities of arboretum. Environmental education games – small and big. Activities with natural materials.

            At 10 AM, 12 noon, 2 PM kindergarten age groups and school groups can register for participation in the School of Green Yard (both indoors and outside). Those are lessons about nature – forest, where basic principles of school’s subjects and bioeconomics are used. Register and we will go outside to research and work creatively:

                         - For preschool and primary school age children – arboretum is a place where large collection of woody plants is growing. Little collectors are going outside to collect natural treasures, this way getting to know the environment around them. This time we will study nature and collect impressions in an urban environment.

                         - For elementary school children – each tree can grow only if the necessary resources are available. Nature scientists will go to the Green Yard, get to know nature's secrets by playing game “On My Own”.
