Environmental workshops in LVM Nature Park of Tērvete will inspire also next year

The LVM Nature Park in Tērvete holds creative environmental workshops from November, by learning the experience of Mārtiņdiena, by celebrating birthday of Latvia and waiting for Christmas, by getting the joy of Christmas from the special scents, colours and feelings, and experiencing the theme of workshop “Under a Christmas tree...”.

The thematic environmental workshops of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete in winter season have been visited by more than 1000 pre-school age children and 1st and 2nd grade students. The environmental workshops in the Dwarfs’ Cottage, that is rich with work and forest knowledge, in November was visited by 125 children, but in December 886 children from various educational institutions were catching Christmas spirit. In the framework of environmental education programme “Learning about Forests” it gave a chance to learn practical skills in woodworking workshop by working with wood and creating a special magnet – a dwarf from birch bark and hazel wood. They learned about the habits and life of small and big inhabitants of forest in the winter, and also learned new games and secrets of dwarf life.

For the first time, LVM Nature Park in Tērvete organises Christmas waiting event in the Skyways of Lucky Land for students that are older than 10 year. In the rope and cable way, 8 m above ground, children got to know the knowledge of Sprīdiītis and tested their strength in the survival school in nature, also decorated Christmas tree in the air, made a bonfire and sang songs. In this winter's season, the Skyways of Lucky Land was visited by 7 groups. Christmas spirit, several metres above ground, in the Skyways of Lucky Land  were caught by 185 people – students from 4th to 7th grade, their parents, teachers and even grandparents. Also in January and February it is possible to test your strength and experience a walk on the rope and cable trail in the Skyways of Lucky Land.
