Making birdhouses in Nature Park in Tērvete
- Tuesday, 07 march 2017

Messengers of spring are doing a great job - joyful and loud bird songs have already been heard during the few warmest days of March. In the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, in woodworking workshop of Dwarf family, the first month of spring gives an opportunity for nature friends to make a birdhouse for spring twitterers with their own hands.
The birdhouse workshop has been opened in the Dwarfs’ Cottage, where the knowledgeable and skilful member of Dwarf family will reveal secrets of making and setting up birdhouses. This year we will make houses for the small forest birds – great tit, Eurasian blue tit, European pied flycatcher and Eurasian nuthatch. Parts for 100 small bird birdhouses are waiting for their handymen. Of course, the authors of birdhouses will be able to take their birdhouse home and set it up next to their house, in garden, in park and be delighted about the first lodgers of the small house.
When birdhouse is set up, we encourage you to send us a photo of it and a little description – which city or municipality of Latvia has delighted birds with a now house.
Dwarfs will invite to see different types of birdhouses, learn about their diversity and clear up which birdhouse is meant for which birds, and also to listen to diverse bird songs.
The LVM Nature Park in Tērvete encourages going into nature to enjoy the first signs of spring and to visit Dwarf family in the Dwarfs’ Cottage, learn about the diversity of birdhouses and make your own special birdhouse!
