Nature Park in Tērvete welcomes the 100 000th visitor of 2017

On the 14 August, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete welcomed its 100 000th visitor of the year 2017! The lucky, 100 000th visitor of this year was the three-year-old Viesturs Strauts from Ogre, the godparents of Viesturs, Matīss Kaņepis and Elīza Kaņepe from Ventspils, took him to LVM Nature Park in Tērvete in the “right moment”, so to say.  The 100 000th visitor of 2017 and his godparents were granted with free entrance tickets to the park, to the Tērvete Wooden View Tower and to enjoy a free celebratory ride with the Fairytale Train, and also other surprise presents from Nature Park in Tērvete.

Godparent Matīss of the lucky 100 000th visitor said that he with his wife visited Nature Park in spring and decided that this is the right place where to take their godson, because park offers multiple recreation possibilities and an exciting environment for children. And they did it!

The LVM Nature Park in Tērvete multiple times has been recognised as a family friendly place. Each year nature park creates something new, extends its infrastructure, renovates and sets up completely new, interesting attractions. Nature Park in Tērvete has been named the European tourist destination of excellence in Latvia in the framework of EDEN project. Children and youth are offered to combine recreation with environmental education process, visiting environmental education trails and participating in creative workshops. Activities are based on international environmental education programme “Learning about Forests”. Nature Park holds more than 30 different events all through the year, also during winter months.

The manager of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, Visvaldis Banziņš, admits, “We are very happy and very proud about the 100 000th visitor milestone of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete for the fifth year in row. The oldest and largest thematic park in Latvia shows continuous increase in tourist flow every year, which leads us to think that the offer of recreational possibilities is interesting and diverse. In the park, thanks to the JSC “Latvijas valsts meži”, during the last 17 years has been carried out substantial infrastructure renovation and landscaping works, especially thinking about families with children. Here schoolchildren are learning the wisdoms of forest, admirers of active recreation are enjoying bike rides or visits the rope-wooden construction trails. In the landscaped territory for tourists – 400 ha – the attractive thematic parts interchange with picturesque and quiet hike trails. Now we can definitely say that groups of various interests and ages feel wonderful in the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete”.
