IT MEANS MOTHER NATURE.

AND IT’S TRUE.

School spring break activities in Nature Park in Tērvete

The LVM Nature Park in Tērvete had an active and creative week. The changing weather, the low temperatures characteristic to winter did not hold back nature friends to learn, to create and to get to know.

During the school break 20 teachers from Jūrmala educational institutions used the opportunity to visit the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete and learn about forest in the Green Classroom in the framework of educational programme “Learning about Forests”. The environmental education specialists of Nature Park in Tērvete introduced teachers to educational possibilities and methodology in open-air, forest environment – lessons in the Green Classroom and educational hike themes in Nature Park. However, environmental guides invited to participate and understand creative workshop themes for preschool and primary school students in the Dwarfs’ Cottage, where the youngest ones, during the lessons, have a chance to learn, play and do creative activities.

Also the very first event of tourist season 2018 has been held – family day “Hop, Hop to Forest!”. In Nature Park in Tērvete both young and old participated in different sports activities, the orienteering activities were very popular – almost all participants eagerly found all control points. At the creative workshop of Dwarfs’ Cottage the little nature friends together with Dwarf family members did small works with various wooden materials – buds were opening and wooden butterflies were made. But, just next doors, at the woodworking workshop, together with the Dwarf Daddy several birdhouses were mad

In March at Dwarfs’ Cottage every nature friend has a chance to make a birdhouse, this possibility, during the school break week, was used by several families. Almost all of 100 templates of small bird birdhouses have been used, but there are few left and are waiting for their handyman.

The LVM Nature Park in Tērvete – active, creative and educational recreation place for young and old. See you in the Nature Park in Tērvete - eventful, surprising and filed with forest stories!
