Each spring JSC "Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) invites schools and other nature friends to participate in the annual Forest Days all over Latvia - get to know forest in excursions, clean the environment from trash, set up birdhouses and plant trees! Forest Days have a long history, they are held with an aim to encourage people to increase their knowledge about forest and forest industry. Last year we renewed the tradition for the symbol and slogan of the Forest Days! Continuing it this year as well, we announced a contest for schoolchildren – To create a design for stickers of the annual LVM Forest Days.

From more than 1000 submitted works, the jury of LVM employees and specialists of advertising agencies have determined the winner. Dace Elizabete Miltiņa from the Rīga Avotu Elementary School’s 6^th grade, teacher Sanita Pelīte, in spring together with classmates and friends will hop into a bus and go to the Forest Days.

Thanks to all the participants of the contest! All participants of the Forest Days will receive a sticker designed by Dace Elizabete.

Last year's winner was Lāsma Cirsiniece from Jersika Elementary School’s 4th grade, who took her classmates to an educational excursion of forest.

Forest Days have a long history, they are held with an aim to encourage people to increase their knowledge about forest and forest industry. They are held in spring all around Latvia.  To schools it gives an extra possibility to participate in the Mother Nature (Mammadaba) master class.
