This year has come with a whole bunch of events in the favourite mammadaba recreation objects. To tell and introduce new travellers with the offer of JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” recreation objects, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, LVM Pokaiņi Forest and other objects participated in the three largest international travel fairs in the capital cities of the Baltic states – “Adventure” in Lithuania, “Balttour” in Latvia and “Tourest” in Estonia.

In the fairs, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete was presented as the family friendliest recreation destination in Latvia, in whose 1200 ha forest territory the largest fairytale land in the Northern Europe can be found. Visitors were informed about the scheduled this year’s events of the park, and also about the environmental education activities that are organised every month. In the 2015, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete was visited by a record number of tourists – 149 thousand visitors. However, LVM Pokaiņi Forest was presented as a place full of mysteries, full of mysterious stones that everyone should learn about and understand, and visit the forest especially during the period of traditional Latvian celebrations and other events. Visitors had a chance to receive a information also about the lakes managed by LVM – Kaņieris, Zebrus and other – where not only the largest fish can be caught, but also silence and peace can be found. Families also appreciated the offer of recreation possibilities for living close to nature in the LVM Recreation and Tourism Centres “Ezernieki” and “Spāre.

In Latvia, the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete was represented at the united stand of Zemgale region, in Lithuania – at the Latvian Tourism Development Agency (TAVA) stand, but in Estonia – at a separate stand together with collaboration partners from Tērvete TIC and Dobele TIC, and also with the Latvia State Institute of Fruit-Growing or the garden of plant breeder Pēteris Upītis. The LVM Kalsnava Arboretum in the “Balttour” fair was represented at the stand of Madona municipality, but in Lithuania and Estonia at the united stand of Latvia, presenting itself as a nature object, which is interesting both for the professionals and nature loving and recreation craving tourists. The interest of foreign tourists was quite big – a meeting was held with several travel companies that were interested in creating tourism routes to Vidzeme, including a visit in the Kalsnava Arboretum, but one radio journalist expressed a desire to visit the blooming garden in May to create a beautiful broadcast for her listeners.

Visitors of the fairs had a chance to receive a special brochure for children “Join the Fairytale Quest!”, the new brochures of LVM Pokaiņi Forest and Kalsnava Arboretum, and also learn about the large recreation possibilities in nature at other LVM recreation objects.

Every years the interest from Lithuanian and Estonian tourists about the recreation possibilities at LVM Nature Park in Tērvete is increasing – in 2015 Estonian tourists represented 12 % of the park’s visitors, however, Lithuanian – 84%, thus, it is important to interact with the potential visitor in person.
