From the year 1992 we celebrate the Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May. In the most beautiful time of nature's spring awakening – on the 8 May from 1 pm in the framework of Pokaiņi Ūsiņš Day's celebration everyone is also welcome to the Mother’s Day event.
Together with Anda Ābele, the leader of folklore groups, and in an accompaniment of songs and sounds of kokle of her folklore groups “Laiva” and “Ceļteka”, we will walk the trails to enjoy the marvellous time of blooming spring flowers and blossoming trees. In the special and energetically powerful sites we will praise the mothers of Nature, Earth and Wind. In the newly built forest pyramid we will light candles and lights and have a celebration in honour of mothers and grandmothers. We will say good and kind words, which are sometimes forgotten to say in our everyday rush. We will listen to the songs and melodies that are dedicated to them. We will give you amulets from the hazel nut trees of Pokaiņi.
When returning from the forest, in the meadow of information centre, everyone will be welcomed by a celebratory bonfire and this spring's herbal tea. There will be entertainment for children as well – blowing of giant soap bubbles. They can compete for the biggest and strongest bubble.
