From July in the lakes managed by the JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” a new campaign “Release the mother!” is still going, which invites the fishing friends to be responsible and to ensure that the quantity of carnivorous fish in reservoirs does not decrease. The author of idea Matīss Ābiķis and nature friend Māris Olte goes to the LVM Lake Lielauce to show and teach how to release mothers correctly, and according to the rules of the competition, received two bronze medals of honorary fisherman's title.
“The quantities of fish in Latvian lakes are not changing, however, the number of fisherman is increasing. The limit of these fish in lakes is not infinite,” says Māris Olte.
The LVM Lake Lielauce is tempting not only with beautiful landscapes and peace, but also with floating cabins on the lake where the night can be spent. However, fishing enthusiasts can hope also for rich catches of tench, perch and pike.
