When waiting for the most heart warming time of the year – Christmas – the collective of LVM Jaunmokas palace invites to create a holiday spirit together! On two Sundays – 27 November and 4 December from 12 noon until 4 PM – in the Column Hall everyone will have a chance to create a special Christmas decoration. In the first Advent it will be a wreath from natural materials, but in the second – indoor decorations from cones, reeds and other well known and unusual natural materials.
During time when shelves in stores are packed with bright and shiny plastic decors, increasingly larger significance is gained by both ascetic and luxurious decorations, whose inspiration and materials are gained right next to us – in parks, forests or even in backyards. How to create an Advent wreath from straw base to decorations of cone laces and dried apple slices? How to create light, twirling in air puzuri from the very simple lake reeds? How pine cones collected by the sea with an artistic touch can become the top decoration of this winter? You will find out all that and try out with your own hands in the Christmas workshops of LVM Jaunmokas Palace on the first and second Sunday of Advent.
Workshops will be lead by landscape architect, florist Guna Mikute, who can make unusual pieces of art and design from very ordinary and usual materials.
The materials needed for wreaths and decorations already have been prepared, all you need for the workshop is a joy to participate!
