The LVM Pokaiņi Forest from 12 to 16 December held a week of children's winter events. The Herb Witch, Fire Man and Nose Dwarf opened their homes for the little guests.
The Herb Witch introduced children with various herbs, their strengths and aromas, allowed to enjoy essential oils while enjoying a sound meditation. Fire Man, in his pyramid, told children about the different powers of pyramids, and about our inner power and our power of intent. Then in the Ziggurat we practised the Solstice fire ritual, came together to make a fire and to sing songs.
After a walk in forest, Nose Dwarf was waiting in Pokaiņi house by the fireplace, he introduced with various aromas and told about the importance of aromas in our lives. Nose Dwarf together with children made scented balls from oranges and spices. In the end children enjoyed the Pokaiņi tea, gingerbread cookies and visited the Santa Claus of Pokaiņi in his hut.
Everyone was eager to recite poems and to receive presents. Children said that Pokaiņi Forest is not just special, but also very beautiful. They will definitely come back with parents in summer to have more time to explore the rocks.
But, on 17 December, Pokaiņi Forest held a winter Solstice welcoming event. This year visitors were so diverse – rabbit, buck, wolf, goat, rooster and even a bear!
The folklore group “Rija” entertained guests with their masks, jolly music, songs and games. Together we dragged the Yule log, after which we gave it to the fire along with all our misfortunes, illnesses and worries that were tied to the log in yarn knots. Everyone could enjoy a warm Pokaiņi tea, delicious cake and gingerbread cookies. Fun games and dances continued after the meal.
Everyone had their share of laughter and activities in a guidance of Druvis Rijnieks. In the end of the event, in the fireplace room, Inese Kozuliņa lead a miraculous meditation of Latvian folk-songs and kokle sounds, and it was played in the special 45th frequency of healing. Thus, this is how one of the most beautiful and important events of the year passed.
See you soon in the LVM Pokaiņi Forest!
