During the contest and in the name of “Release the Mother!” movement at least 500 carnivorous fish have been released in all Latvia. Organisers of “Release the Mother!” think that the biggest gain of the campaign is even more fishermen, who know what they want to receive from their beloved hobby – not a fridge filled with fillet, but repeated and frequent meetings with large fish, which provides the improvement of handling skills. 

After the award ceremony for the 3 longest pikes, 3 longest total lengths of pikes, contestants participating – winners expressed their approval of “Release the Mother!” activities, they said that ideas of harmful angling attracts more and more people, especially, young fishermen. After the speeches a compilation of photos and videos of release that were sent in for the “Release the Mother!” were presented. Evening ended with coffee and snacks, and informal conversations about current events in ice fishing and about visions of the next – 4th season.
