Last year, the support association “Aleja” of Jaunmokas Palace participated in the “Cemex” opportunity fund's project competition for Tukums and Talsi region and received a support for development of the park of Jaunmokas Palace.
The new reconstruction concept of park's territory has been developed in collaboration with company “Totus” and landscape architect Natālija Ņitavska. It intends not only maintaining the quality of existing active zone with walking trails, Herbal tea garden, Rhododendron garden, 30 year old oak stand, rose beds, but also cleaning up, landscaping the passive zone – old fruit tree garden territory, hazel-tree plantations, Three oak grove and other important nature objects of the park. At the same time, creating an environment in the park, which brings not only aesthetically visual sensations to park’s visitors, but also gives information about the neighbourhood. In summer-autumn season of year 2018 the landscaping works of the first planting bed in a 382 m2 area were started.
In the realisation of park’s reconstruction concept a clean environment with accessible and safe movement possibilities for different target audiences, including, people with reduced mobility, to walk in the park in different weather conditions, get qualitative information from the outdoor stands about the variety of plants and animals in the park, their protection, and also about visitor behaviour in the park. Specialist of the park will be able to create new activities in the framework of life-long education programme for children and include qualitative activities in the park, thus, improve the knowledge of the new generation in the issues about environmental protection and conservation.
In the framework of “Cemex” supported project it is planned to carry out landscaping works, creating walking trail “Ziedu ceļš” (Trail of flowers) and two different colour flower beds and one colour flower bed with various grass plants and perennials’ collections. Park's visitors – the guests of Jaunmokas Palace will take part in the planting works of colourful flower beds.
