“I had a chance to get to know practically what I am studying and make conclusion that in reality this work is not that easy. The time spent in internship convinced me that I want my future to be connected with the speciality I have selected,” this is how six month long internship has been evaluated by Alise, one of the interns at the LVM Recreation and Tourism Centre “Ezernieki”.

It is already a custom, that every spring at Tourism Centre “Ezernieki” brings something similar to a graduation, because some of future hospitality industry specialists are finishing their six month internship. In the recent years we have given internship places for many young people from those educational institutions that prepare the future hotel and tourism specialists. We would like to highlight one particularly successful collaboration with Jēkabpils Agrobusiness College’s Barkava Department.

Collaboration with LVM Recreation and Tourism Centre “Ezernieki” is also appreciated by school's director Silvija Smeltere: “I am very happy about this longterm collaboration, which is continuing for many years. Regular partners are important, it gives students a chance to receive practical knowledge. It is pleasant, when evaluating internship reports, to read good comments about our students, who want to work and are interested in learning new things”.

However, we are happy that girls, when finishing internship, have received useful experience for the future and come back to visit us. Few years ago, “Ezernieki” was the first internship experience for Paula, who continues to study and still is our friend. “I, as an intern, was given an opportunity to participate both in welcoming guests, attending guests, and also in room service, learning communication skills with guests, table manners. The knowledge received helped in the practical part of an exam. I am still thankful for the months filled with experience that we spent together. At “Ezernieki” I felt like one of their own,” remembers Paula.

Certainly, these young people in our work collective are a valuable support in everyday works. We are happy to see, how initially shy and insecure colleague (and this is how we perceive these future specialists) turns into a poised, responsible and confident team member. And in spring, just like in a graduation, we are sad to say good-byes. We thank all the girls (and also one guy!) for the good time spent together.

See you soon!
