The creators of TV show “Makšķerē ar Olti” (Fish with Olte) together with Raimons Mārtiņš, the winner of first season of “Release the Mother!”, visits the LVM Lake Lielauce.

Even though, the calm and sunny afternoon of May did not give much hope for big catches. Two large pikes were noticed when moving with an electric motor but they were frightened away. Many large tench were also seen and some large perch as well. Whereas, the winner of the first season of “Release the Mother!” managed to catch two pikes that were less than 60 centimetres.

In the episode of “Makšerē ar Olti” you will learn the nuances of pike anatomy and will have answers of how to be gentle with the big “mothers”. However, Armands Roze, an ichthyologist in a fish farm, explains why the pike “papas” that are caught in spring tend to be torn and scarred.

Already since the begging of May, the carnivorous fish angling enthusiasts are invited to participate in the contest “Release the Mother!”, which takes place in lakes managed by the JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” – LVM Lake Kaņieris, LVM Lake Lielauce, LVM Gulbju Lake and  LVM Tērvete Reservoir.
