It is the time when nature is only getting ready to dress up in its winter coats, but the feeling of Christmas spirit is already emerging - Jaunmokas Palace invites to creative workshops – wreaths, house and Christmas tree decorations and also light objects will be created from natural materials on four Sundays.
In the times when shelves in stores are packed with bright and shiny plastic decorations, increasingly larger significance is gained by both ascetic and luxurious decorations, whose inspiration and materials are gained right next to us – in parks, forests or even in backyards. How to create an Advent wreath from straw ring base to decorations of cone laces and dried apple slices? How to create airy straw mobiles that whirl in the smallest air breeze from completely ordinary lake reeds? How pine cones collected by the sea with an artistic touch can become the top decoration of this winter? You will learn that and try it all out with your own hands in the Christmas workshops of LVM Jaunmokas Palace on 26 November, 3, 10 and 17 December.
On the 26 November we will make Advent wreaths, on the 3 December straw mobiles and interior decorations, on the 10 December light objects, on the 17 December – Christmas tree decorations.
The workshops will be lead by Guna Mikute, the landscape architect of palace, florist, who has the ability to turn completely ordinary things into unusual pieces of art and design.
The materials needed for wreaths and decorations already have been prepared, all you need for the workshop is a joy to participate!
Participation fees – in wreath workshops 5 EUR per wreath, in other workshops 5 EUR for adults, 3 EUR for schoolchildren. For children, who participate in the workshops together with their parents – free of charge.
