On the 1 May, already the second running competition “Jugle of Lubāna 2018” took place in the Lubāna region. Different age groups participated in the competition and everyone was able to select the most suitable distance – one, six or nine kilometre run.
This year it was decided to change the location of this sports event, finding that the surroundings of LVM Recreation Centre “Ezernieki” are the most suitable ones. Participants, who came both from the region of Lubāna, and from neighbour regions, were approving the interesting relief of the surroundings, which were not only beautiful but also challenging. Here and there participants found also some last year's cranberries, which they used to refresh themselves during the challenge.
Participants and fans were surprised not only by the rich relief, but also the variety of the participants. The youngest runner was only 4 years old, however, the oldest one – 67 years old, who didn't select some easy distance, but the route which was made for athletes. The winners in the 9 km run was Kitija Auziņa (time 48:45) and Andrejs Jesko (time 36:11), who is also the Latvian record holder in 50 km distance.
At the end of the event all participants and fans were welcomed to see the documentary “A to B Rollerski”, a story about Latvian athlete Raimonds Dombrovskis – he, in 90 days, on roller-skis crossed the North America from Canada to Mexico.
