Pretty often rain drops are drumming on many windowsills and wind is shaking tree leaves, in many places ground is already covered with snow. The feelings that we see in nature cannot be put into words, it must be seen and felt by each of us. Those are the autumnal morning, that are covered in the white sheets of mist, those are the trees that let go of their bright leaves, and the brisk air that we can breathe in deeply. It is a possibility to be in nature to draw the energy from it.

In the LVM Kalsnava Arboretum nature has given us a surprise – a white snow cover with fresh tracks of forest animals on it. Another surprise is brought by the common witch-hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) that is flowering right now. Despite that all trees are preparing for winter, this hazel tree is the one that blooms with yellow flowers only in autumn, even though leaves have surrendered to the cold weather and are unwillingly falling.

The LVM Kalsnava Arboretum, which never seizes to amaze with a collection of unusual trees, shrubs and lianas, invites families together with children to visit on these autumn holidays. This is the last week of active tourism season, when it is still possible to enjoy the beauty of nature and to breathe the fragrances of autumn.

The LVM Kalsnava Arboretum will wait for its visitors until this year’s 30 October, but groups can book their visits by calling +371 28784290, +371 27841099 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
